My daughter is teaching me to be bolder in my own life.
Children are the best teachers, or in my experience, I have learned so much about life and myself being her mom. I decided to share a great story about the love of my life, my beautiful daughter Isabella.
This is a picture of us at the Pokemon symphony below. I did ask if she was okay with me sharing our picture with you guys and she gave me the thumbs up. She is beautiful if I do say so myself. I do!
So, here is my teaching moment, courtesy of my daughter. Today she gave herself a pep talk and shared it with me.
She is a teen experiencing some hormones which on occasion brings about some acne. She decided she was not going to let her define her and that she was beautiful (and as her mom, of course, I think so) as she was.
She came to tell me you should and that is one of the moments I feel should is the right word, she said, “Mom you should love yourself no matter your size, skin color, religion, height, weight or any acne scars. You need to remember you are a beautiful human being with wonderful talents.”
It made me think about how I was nowhere near this aware when I was a teen and I was a very proud mama.
How has then encouraged me to be bolder? I thought you would never ask, so let me tell ya.
- I am going to start focusing on self-care as a way to show myself some love and acceptance. Massages will be the first step. I will get monthly or every other week an hour or hour and a half Swedish massage.
- I am going to be focusing on letting go of people and situations that are not supportive of me, my family, or lifestyle. By the way, I am dealing with a bully right now and I am doing some preparation and taking some baby steps to eliminate them from my life, (that will be talked about in a future post.)
- I am going to get back on focus in building my writing and design business online. I have been so concerned with failing that I have failed by default. (also a future post for details)
- I am going to put myself out there in my personal and business. Yes, is going to become the word for me.
I think that is a great start for me and a way to practice the name of this site Bold Bright life.
Here is to living a Bold Bright Life.
